This year the annual eyeball event for Optometry students was held overlooking the world famous Gabba cricket ground, in South Brisbane, Queensland.

Attended by 130 students from the Queensland University of Technology, their partners and representatives from the Optical industry including sponsors, Provision, Luxottica and Open, the August evening was a huge success!

The glittering occasion began in style with a formal sit down 3 course dinner. After a brief speech made by the organizers, congratulating the final year students, there followed a wide variety of awards and prizes from sponsors. The major prize of the evening was a weekend getaway for two at a Luxury 4 star Rydges resort which was donated by the Open Recruitment Group.  The celebrations continued with dancing into the small hours!

The lucky winner of the Open prize was Matthew Kowalski, one of the fourth year Optometry students. Matthew said he was “thrilled” with his prize!
